I’m a seasoned trial lawyer, now in my 27^th year of practicing law as a civil litigator. I received my J.D., summa cum laude, after attending Georgetown University Law Center and University of Miami School of Law, where I served as a member of the distinguished University of Miami Law Review. Upon graduation, I became a member of the Order of the Coif, which is an honor bestowed on Juris Doctor graduates who rank in the top 10% of their class.

Until joining Fasig Brooks in 2016, I was a partner in an esteemed civil defense firm, where I gained invaluable jury and bench trial experience representing both international and local corporations and insurance companies.

As a shareholder at Fasig Brooks, I am uniquely positioned to use that experience to provide my clients with the results they deserve when fighting against the very defendants and insurance carriers that I used to represent. I’m compassionate, determined, and resilient, and I treat my clients the way I would want my family treated by an attorney.

Carrie is a Member of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States – the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Fewer than 1% of trial lawyers in the U.S. are invited for membership in these forums. Forum membership acknowledges excellence in advocacy for trial lawyers who have won million and multi-million dollar cases for their injured clients.

Carrie has also been recognized as a Rising Star and Super Lawyer by “Super Lawyers,” which is a peer reviewed organization designed to recognize and promote outstanding attorneys in their areas of practice.

Carrie proudly serves as a Board member of the Society of Women Trial Lawyers, a national organization dedicated to improving the professional and personal lives of women trial lawyers.

Based on her relentless advocacy for female empowerment in the legal field, she received the Determined Woman of the Year by Tallahassee Woman’s Magazine in 2023.

Carrie has successfully served as lead trial counsel on many complex and high-profile cases involving fatalities or catastrophic injuries resulting from trucking accidents, tire failures, construction site injuries, gun violence, medical malpractice, sexual assaults, products liability, auto accidents, and negligent AI/social media products.

She is a sought-after speaker in the legal field, delivering presentations to trial lawyers on Jury Selection/Voir Dire, Maximizing Technology at Trial, Identifying and Curing Workplace Toxicity and the Path to Becoming a Successful Female Personal Injury Attorney.

Bio

Carrie was born and raised with three older brothers on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico in Ft. Myers, Florida. The first in her family to graduate from college, she graduated with honors from Florida State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. While at FSU, she was a proud member of the FSU Flying High Circus! Carrie earned her Juris Doctor in 1999 at the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude.

She was a member of the prestigious University of Miami Law Review, as well as a member of the Order of the Coif, which is an honor bestowed on the top 10% of the graduating members of a law school class. While in Miami, Carrie gained invaluable experience as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge David Gersten at Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal.

In 1998, Carrie moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as an associate in the litigation section of one of the world’s largest law firms and where she had the privilege of completing her third year of law school at Georgetown University Law Center. Following graduation, Carrie served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Administrative Law Judge Richard Stansell-Gamm with the United States Department of Labor.

Carrie spent the first 16 years of her legal career in Tallahassee as a defense litigator whose primary focus was defending a wide array of professionals sued in malpractice actions. Before joining her former rivals and very good friends at Fasig | Brooks in July 2016, Carrie was a shareholder in a prominent defense litigation firm and a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

A seasoned trial lawyer, Carrie is now a Partner at Fasig Brooks, an esteemed group of people who work tirelessly to protect the rights of others. She is always eager to use her legal skills, which were already well-honed from many years of defense practice, and sharpened with nearly a decade of practice on the plaintiff’s side to achieve justice for her clients and improve their overall lives as their attorney in their personal injury cases.

Carrie is a personal fitness enthusiast and plays competitive soccer around the country in numerous adult leagues. She enjoys adventure travelling and being on the boat with her family. She is also committed to improving our community and currently serves as the Director of Southwood Gives Back and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee-Leon County Shelter. Carrie and her husband Jaken, also a litigation attorney, are the proud parents of two sons, Gabriel and Sebastian.
