Staff Spotlight on Catherine Register
Director of Marketing
Fasig | Brooks Law Offices
Tallahassee Office
Describe Your Role at Fasig Brooks
Catherine:“I oversee all of the marketing, advertising, and public relations of our firm. We have numerous advertising campaigns and outreach efforts spread across the state of Florida, and I direct development, implementation, and monitoring of the return on our investment. The shareholders of our firm work with me to plan our marketing strategy and rely on me to manage our advertising budgets.”
What inspired you to join the team here?
Catherine: “I read the books written by both Dana Brooks & Jimmy Fasig, and I knew this business was unique in its mission. I wanted a role where I could continue to advance my skillset, engage in impactful work, and have great work – life balance. After reading about Dana & Jimmy’s vision and mission for their lives and their work, it was clear that working with them would offer the opportunities I was looking for. It didn’t hurt that I really liked everyone here!”
What’s the most meaningful part of working with Fasig Brooks?
Catherine: “I love seeing the hundreds of 5 Star Google Reviews pouring in that describe how much our firm has made an impact on our clients’ lives. I also really love the community and family of the staff here. It’s a blessing to work with such great people, and I don’t take that for granted”
If each day had 25 hours, what would you do with the extra time?
Catherine: “Spend more time outside! I wish someone would invent a way for us to be fully engaged at the office AND enjoying nature at the same time”
What book or movie has had a significant impact on you and why?
Catherine: “This is a tough one, as I love to read and have filled an entire book
shelf with titles that have had a big impact on me. One that I’ve been thinking about recently is The Choice by Dr. Edith Eger, a Holocaust survivor. Dr. Eger shares, ‘Our painful experiences aren’t a liability — they’re a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength.’ During hard times in my life, it’s comforted me to know that she was able to endure the horrors of the Holocaust and go to heal and bring healing to the world through her work as a therapist and author. If she can do that, I can overcome anything I’m going through”
What keeps you going when you feel pressure or stress?
Catherine: “I’m very serious about setting goals, and many of my goals relate to the life I want to build with my husband and our three children. When I’m under pressure or stress, I try to reconnect with my why. I’m either reassured that the hard times will be worth it when I achieve my goals, or it shows me that this isn’t value added. If it’s not, I feel freer to make a change.”
What is something about Fasig Brooks you wish more people knew about?
Catherine: “A) the people here are as nice as they seem – that’s not pretend! And B) for every lovely person seen publicly representing our firm, there are five people behind the scenes dedicated to supporting our clients. We have a fantastic group of people here.”
What’s your dream car?
Catherine: “Hmmm, I’m in my mom – chauffeur era, so the bigger the better. Probably a Chevy Yukon!”
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Catherine: “I’d be so excited to take my family on a trip to Italy and Greece. I’ve been to Italy and would love to share that with my kids. It would be a dream come true to experience Greek culture too.”
What’s your favorite activity outside of work?
Catherine: “I’m a simple pleasures kind of person. I love to read and be outside. You can find me walking in the woods, kayaking on of the nearby rivers, or swimming at the springs any time I can get away.”
What’s your favorite place to visit?
Catherine: “North Georgia is where I grew up, so any spot in the Appalachian Mountains feels like home to me. I love visiting any time, but especially in the fall!”
What’s the most frequently asked question you get from clients?
Catherine: “Since I don’t provide direct client service, I hear the most from clients who are asking to be a part of a testimonial commercial shoot. It’s amazing to see how many people want to tell the world about their awesome experience working with our attorneys”
