Man Blinded in Premises Liability Case in Gadsden County
Quincy, FL: Tallahassee based Fasig & Brooks is announcing together with Fred E. Pearson of the Law Office of Fred Pearson, a verdict against State Farm where their client was permanently blinded in a dangerous power tool accident. Following three hours of deliberations, a Gadsden County Florida jury returned a gross verdict of $5.4 million in favor of their client.
“It was a hard fought battle between our team and the State Farm Attorneys,” said James E. Fasig whose team worked tirelessly to fight for justice for their client. “As a result of a dangerous power tool incident at his brother-in-law’s home our client Mr. Simmons must now bear the burden of blindness for the rest of his life. Despite the fact that the injury happened on his brother-in-law’s property, with his brother-in-law’s power tool which had a history of at least one dangerous incident that the brother-in-law knew about, State Farm initially denied the claim on his brother-in-law’s homeowner’s policy.”
